Curriculum

Since September 2016 we have been following the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) to ensure coverage of the National Curriculum for subjects including; Art, Music, DT, Geography, History, Science, Computing, Citizenship, Technology and International Mindedness.

The International Primary Curriculum (IPC) is an internationally-minded, thematic, cross-curricular and rigorous teaching structure used in over 85 countries. It nurtures a love of learning and encourages the necessary key skills and personal qualities that our children will need as they move on to secondary school and the world of work.

The IPC learning focuses on a broad balance of Knowledge, Skills and Understanding through linked learning opportunities. English is taught discretely and also through linked work as part of the IPC theme. We find this enhances and secures key literacy skills in a range of contexts and experiences.
Although curriculum plans for the IPC are well structured and set out in a way that ensures good expectations, we are currently revising the curriculum that is covered by the IPC to each discreetly from September 2022.
